Duck-Rabbit Brewery was built on people and ideas. That passion has led to the express of those ideas in beautifully crafted beers. Master Brewer Paul Philippon was teaching philosophy when the idea of brewing professionals became a passion he couldn’t turn away from. After working for successful area brewers, Philippon took the jump and opened Duck-Rabbit Brewery to serve his own creations.
They’ve become a dark beer specialist with focus in what they consider an under represented beer market. Born and raised in the Farmville community of North Carolina, they considering for expansion, shipping has been spot on, and the Farmville community has welcomed the brewery with open arms.
Mike Stevens and Dave Engbers were both working steady jobs when they decided to throw caution to the wind and open their brewery. It meant quitting their jobs and taking out giant loans. If you’re going to live life, live it hard, without regrets.
That philosophy lead them to create complex, in-your-face ales with huge aromatics, bigger bodies, and tons of flavors. They don’t brew beers for the masses. Instead their craft beers are for a chosen few, “a small cadre of renegades and rebels who enjoy a beer that pushes the limits of what is commonly accepted as taste.” In short, they make beer for people like them, and their brews stand alone.
