Our January and February book is Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. It’s a long book, so we’ll take two months to read it. King Henry VIII doesn’t yet have an heir and wants out of his marriage. The Pope won’t grant him an annulment. Thomas Cromwell believes he can be of assistance to the king. Wolf Hall sheds new light on Thomas Cromwell, and his relationship with Henry VIII. This is the first in a trilogy; the second book is Bring Up the Bodies.
The British Broadcasting Company has adapted this book into a miniseries.
The Literary Ladies Book Club meets the third Monday of each month in the Board Room of the main branch at the Franklin location. The Board Room is on the second floor of the library. The book group reads all genres and non-fiction too! We welcome new members.
