The Franklin Theatre
The Act Too Players (ATP), Williamson County’s premier training program for all youths interested in the performing arts will take the stage in June with the production of SEUSSICAL. The productions will run from July 19th and July 20th at the historic Franklin Theatre located in Downtown Franklin, Tennessee.
Theatre Arts Director Sondra Morton stated, “In January, the Act Too Players successfully produced three different children’s at the Franklin Theatre. We had a wonderful experience and we are looking forward to being at the Franklin Theatre for the remainder of the year.”
SEUSSICAL is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza that is fun for the whole family!
Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, and a little boy with a big imagination–Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.
Morton also stated, “I know that there have been several interpretations as this musical in the past several years. We are excited about bringing some fresh elements to this already enjoyable musical. We are actively working with a motion backdrop company in designing custom moving backdrops for our production of Seussical. This will create an added layer to the enjoyment of Seussical.”
There will be a show at 1:00pm and 6:00pm on each show day. Ticket prices range from $15 dollar tickets to $25 tickets for the cabaret seating at the front of the audience. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Franklin Theatre at 615.538.2076 or ordered online at http://www.franklintheatre.com/live-theater/.
