Williamson County’s annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Complex located at 1320 West Main Street, Franklin.
Some items that you can bring to the Household Hazardous Waste collection are paint thinners, pesticides and herbicides, oven cleaners and drain cleaners, swimming pool chemicals, roofing tar, aerosols and driveway sealant. View the full acceptable items list at http://www.williamsonrecycles.org.
When bringing these items to Household Hazardous Waste Day, you should line the trunk of your car with plastic or newspaper and store all hazardous materials in closed containers.
Please do NOT bring any medical and infectious wastes (with the exception of needles and sharps in puncture-proof containers), radioactive wastes including smoke detectors, or any ammunition or explosives.
BOPAE items will NOT be accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste collection; however, City of Franklin Sanitation will be having BOPAE collection on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 417 Century Court in Franklin. BOPAE accepts batteries, oil, paint, antifreeze and electronics year-round at this collection site. Only Williamson County residents can bring BOPAE items to recycle at City of Franklin.
