FSSD parents and eight-grade students are invited to a special presentation by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Assistant Special Agent Matthew Espenshade, who will share the risks and consequences of posting hoax threats to schools and other public places.
This special presentation will beheld January 15 at 6:00 PM in the Freedom Intermediate School theater. In the aftermath of tragic shootings such as the ones at Santa Fe High School and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the FBI and law enforcement around the country place significant emphasis on responding to every post with possible federal charges and jail time considered. Williamson County Juvenile Court District Attorney Jay Fahey will also be on hand to share his experiences with local student social media posts that have ended with some life-changing consequences. This is an important topic for both parents and students, so we hope you will come together for a shared understanding of this topic.
A Spanish interpreter will be present. Please note that this session is not suitable for younger children, so please plan accordingly. For more information, contact Celby Glass at 615-472-3117 or email@example.com.
