Bridge beams will be set in place on Thursday October 12 for the Ragsdale Road project. Starting at 7am, trucks carrying the large beams will be staged on the shoulder of Concord Road and proceed to the project one at a time.. As the trucks travel on Sunset Drive, traffic will be temporarily stopped for five to ten minutes to allow the large beam structures to make the turn onto Ragsdale Road and then back across Sunset Drive into the project area.
Once a beam is set and secured, the next beam will be moved to the project location. Each beam placement should take approximately 40 – 45 minutes. Drivers and residents nearby should expect a five to ten minute delay/stop in traffic every 40 -45 minutes on Sunset Drive and Ragsdale Rd. as the beams arrive.
After the beams are unloaded and set, trucks will return to Jackson to pick up the final three beams. It is anticipated the second set of beams will arrive between 1:30-2:00 pm. During this time until about 4pm, a second round of temporary closures should be expected.
Please consider avoiding the area on Thursday October 12 if possible.
