Reagan is a handsome 14 year old Golden Retriever who has been receiving care at @animaliarehab and acupuncture with Dr. Meg Roth to treat osteoarthritis and hind end weakness. This golden gentleman loves marshmallows as a high reward snack during treatments and isn’t afraid to make new friends each week!

Reagan and his family have been working hard with a home exercise plan, while receiving physical therapy each week at our facility. In addition to acupuncture and manual therapy, Reagan is doing hydrotherapy (underwater treadmill), shockwave therapy, and pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF).

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes high-energy sound waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. It has been shown to promote nerve and tendon healing, decrease pain and inflammation, and increase blood supply to the treated area.

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy is the use of electromagnetic frequencies to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate healing. PEMF has the unique ability to evenly penetrate through soft tissue and bone to reach the targeted treatment area. At Animalia Rehab, we use two products called the Assisi Loop and the Respond Bed. For more information about the therapies we offer and how they can work together with your pet’s existing care, contact our team at @animaliarehab!
