This spot has a commanding view of past and present.

Federal troops under Gen. John Schofield defended this hill from advancing Confederate troops during the Battle of Spring Hill in November of 1864.

The current road (Kedron Rd) was there at that time and was called Kedron Pike and still is by some folks.

The Federal troops were trying desperately to reach Franklin Tn by way of Columbia-Franklin Pike (now US hwy 31) and were most interested in continuing their march northward.

Not a huge battle here, but there were casualties on both sides. There are historical signs atop the hill which explain the actions and significance of this location.

Some of the actual battlefield was lost due to construction of Saturn Parkway.
