“But Amplify, I can’t do a single leg deadlift?”
Start with these modifications and work your way up!
Step 1) use a pipe, pole, or other device to place on your back. The goal is to keep your spine straight!
Do this by squeezing the core!
This keeps your spine neutral and appropriately shifts your weight back!
Step 2) place one knee on a bench!
Think of placing 80% of the weight in the straight leg and 20% in the bent!
I usually give clients a weight to hold if they have mastered this move!
This helps to keep your hips and pelvis neutral, and allows you to increase difficulty by adding weight!
Step 3) you have officially mastered a single leg deadlift!
You can hold onto a squat rack, table, etc for balance, however the goal is to do this with no assistance at all!
