Want to stick to your New Yearโ€™s resolutions this year? Create SMART goals. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Specific: Your resolution should be absolutely clear. For example, how much weight do you want to lose and at what time interval (20 pounds by the end of the year, so a little less than 2 pounds per month).

๐Ÿ“ Measurable: Be able to objectively measure your goal. For example, if you want to drink more water, log into a journal or make notes on your phone or in an app to track how much you are drinking so you can see your measurable progress.

๐Ÿ† Achievable: Donโ€™t go too big too fast. Make sure your goals can be realistically met without taking over your life or making you (and others) miserable trying to achieve them because they are too lofty.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿฆฑ Relevant: Make sure your resolution really matters to you and you are doing it for the right reasons. Donโ€™t let other people, society or the popular fad at the time be your influences.

โฐ Time-bound: Set a realistic timeline for achieving your goals. Give yourself enough time to do it with lots of smaller intermediate goals along the way. Have occasional small wins to keep you motivated so you can continue to make progress. For example, if you want to save a certain amount of money by the end of the year, set smaller savings goals each month to help you achieve your big goal.
