In light of the cold weather headed our way, here’s a snowy photo of Franklin from the 1920s. These two unidentified ladies are standing in the square with Third Avenue South behind them.

To their left is Wagner’s Grocery where City Hall sits today. D.J. Wagner and his brother, Jim, opened the grocery in 1900. It was the last business in Franklin to use horse-drawn delivery vehicles. D.J. cited his love for horses as the reason for not updating his mode of operation. Swipe to see one of their wagons at Five Points.

In the first photo, you’ll also notice the courthouse and Stephen’s Pie Wagon on the right.
