Firefighters and emergency medical responders from Franklin, Brentwood and Williamson Health EMS will be on the lower level of the shopping mall, near the play area and Belk, from 10 AM to 6 PM, teaching people the simple steps to save a life. Shoppers and employees are invited to stop by anytime throughout the day and ta…ke a few minutes to receive one-on-one instruction and coaching from the first responders and practice lifesaving skills on mannequins. They will also have a chance to meet 94 FM The Fish Afternoon Host Doug Griffin, who will be on hand to help promote the event. The Franklin Fire Department has organized this awareness-only, non-certification event in honor of CPR and AED Awareness Week, June 1 – 7, which is designed to encourage people to act immediately in a cardiac emergency. According to the American Heart Association, immediately beginning CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of surviving a cardiac arrest.
