let’s explore the different grades of acne

most people have experienced at least one minor breakout or pimple in their life. but sometimes for others, their acne is causing pain, inflammation, and has become a widespread condition.

❤️ grade 1 acne is the mildest and most common. it usually consists of blackheads, whiteheads, and minor papules and pustules. this grade of acne can usually be treated with topical medications like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.
❤️ grade 2 acne is the more moderate amount. you’ll see most of this type of acne on your face. benzoyl peroxide is also a good topical treatment to use but you should also incorporate a cleanser that includes salicylic acid as well.
❤️ grade 3 acne is known as nodulocystic acne and comes with occasionally inflamed nodules. you may notice some acne on your neck and chest. topical antibiotics like clindamycin and erythromycin will help control surface bacteria that’s causes acne. you can also use a topical gel like dapsone for inflamed acne.
❤️grade 4 acne is known as severe nodulocystic acne, this looks like several large painful and inflamed pustules and nodules. the surrounding skin will be swollen as well. the best way to fight this type of acne is to wash your face twice a day with a medicated cleanser and apply a prescribed topical medication. you can also talk to your doctor and find an oral medication that’s best for you.

it’s also important to NEVER squeeze or pop any pimples at home without proper tools and aftercare.
