Let’s not forget the power of prayer.

I’ve been there. I’ve been caught up in the half-hearted promises to pray while throwing a quick one heavenward, but there is something so sweet about truly entering into a place of sweet fellowship with our Savior.

Prayer moves things. Prayer works. Prayer truly has an impact on the world around us. Prayer ushers in the heavenly. Prayer makes way for what the Lord is doing and opens us up to His work.

While in Franklin, there was a beautiful store with a prayer chapel in the middle. It had a sign that said “take a tag or leave a tag” Each one was written and filled with prayer requests, statements of faith in the power of our mighty God and His ability to answer those prayers.

It can seem discouraging. I get it. There are things I’ve been praying for my whole life that I have yet to see the fulfillment and answers to. There is restoration I’ve been asking God for since I was probably 5 or 6. There are things that seem dark and overwhelming that have been prayer requests of mine over the last several years and I still don’t see the fruit. And from my worldly perspective, it’s as if they have gotten worse.

But prayer is a marathon sport. It’s something for which you train and train and train. You run … and you keep on running. You pick up that baton and you DO. NOT. PUT. IT. DOWN. It’s something you are faithful in, you persist in.

And you pray from the perspective of it already being done. How many times has God reminded us that “it is finished”? “Whatever you ask of me, that will I do.” The power to move mountains is in your faith. See the circumstances with heavens eyes. Ask the Lord to open your spiritual sight to see as He does… And pray with that faith.

So here is your reminder that your prayers have POWER. And it’s high time we start wielding it
