Shout out to all the goldens in the world making our lives a little crazier, but a whole ton better.
On a personal note, to be honest, I thought I’d have another golden by now.
Having just one dog/golden has never been really our thing, and after losing Rosie so unexpectedly this past summer, I knew I wasn’t ready at all any time soon, but it’s been 6 months and I’m still unsure I can do it again. We had both goldens since puppies and they were only 3 and 2 when we had to say goodbye to her.
Not that I think another golden could ever replace her, but I think I would just compare every single dog to her, which isn’t fair because she was literally the perfect golden. I just don’t think any other dog can live up to what she was even a little bit. I still miss her so much, and I’m still so sad and shocked we only had 3 years with her. Aly (our other golden) was so sad at first, but she’s really been upped in the perks department, now able to do things Rosie wasn’t trusted with, like being upstairs, sleeping beds, car rides and going to the park and barn all the time, etc.
