Swipe for the before🤯😱

Are you familiar with Art Nouveau? I bet you’ve seen it but never knew the name. Most prominent from the late 1800s until the first World War, it was often defined by the extensive use of arches, curved forms, bold wood grains and intricate detailing. It’s often the embodiment of what most people picture as antique. So imagine my excitement when we came across this true Art Nouveau dresser. It took a lot of time for this restoration considering it was covered in a destroyed alligator like finish but I can’t imagine having never uncovered this craftsmanship.

Made in 1932 by NP & Co., this dresser features three large drawers that work effortlessly, original restored caster wheels that move with ease and a triple mirror. The original brass hardware has been restored to a warm golden hue that pairs perfectly with the intricate designs found across the drawer faces. The structure is Poplar solids paired with Red Gum, Mahogany, Birds Eye Maple and Burl veneers while the drawers are all Oak. Finished in a rich brown stain and sealed in a soft flat sheen. With pieces like this, antiques no longer have to be tucked away for fear of using them, it’s made with form and function for use in almost any room.
