Things that cause estrogen dominance:
🤍 Progesterone deficiency
🤍 Xenoestrogens (chemicals in self-care products that mimic the role of estrogen)
🤍 Methylation issues like MTHFR and COMT gene variants, making it harder to metabolize estrogen via the 2-OH pathway
🤍 Low B vitamins. B vitamins are methyl donors to estrogen metabolism
🤍 Low testosterone. Even if your estrogen is considered “in range”, if you have low testosterone in relationship to your estrogen level. These hormones have a yin and yang relationship.
Other things that contribute to estrogen dominance:
✔️ Sluggish liver
✔️ Over consumption of phytoestrogens (foods that contain chemicals that mimic estrogen
✔️ Roundup (you know I had to mention glyphosate 🤭)
✔️ Hormonal birth control
